Remarkable Man

Saturday morning we got the sad news of the tragic passing of Bishop Robb.
Not only was Claye my Bishop and the Bishop I most remember but Brooke is a very good friend.
I often had the opportunity to spend time in the Robb home and got to know the family very well.
They are wonderful!
Even with the knowledge of the plan of salvation it is anything but easy to understand why?
But this I do know, there isn't a man greater, more respectable, kind, loving, and caring as Bishop Robb. Each time I came in contact with him he was sincerely concerned about how I was, went out of his way to talk with me and had that smile that was contagious.
What a great example of living a Christ-like life!
My Heart hurts for the Robb girls, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers, we love you!

Wild Weekend

OK, it wasn't that wild, but it was FUN!
Fri. I had to go into work for a few hours so LeGrand met my mom in Fruitland to drop of our little man- we miss the stinker!
Friday lunch we ate at "Su Casa" - the last time we ate there?? When we were dating, what fun memories! Then we shopped a little, checked in to the "Little America" and headed to dinner at the "Himalayan Kitchen" - we love trying new things and this was our first time for Indian food and it was Fabulous! Then my very great hubby had gotten us tickets to "Joyride" - the production put on by RDT. It was fun and didn't hurt that we got milk and cookies afterward (LeGrand loved that part!)
Sat. We had breakfast at The Original Pancake house - my request! Did some Christmas Shopping then hit "Twilight" at Jordan commons - don't worry he bought the tickets over a month ago as a surprise for me - what a great hubby! Can I add, he wouldn't read the books and thought I was out-of-my-mind while I was reading them, but, he liked the show! We did a bit more shopping, stopped at Red Robin and headed home!
Thanks honey for a Fun weekend!
(Yep! Forgot the camera, of course!)

Soakin it up

It was so BEAUTIFUL today!
Can't believe that in just a couple short weeks it will be December and we still get to enjoy the 60 degree weather, in Utah no less!
So, I couldn't let one more sun shiney day go by without enjoying it! Laex and I took an afternoon walk and it was delightful!
The neighbor was out washing his car other neighbors were hanging Christmas lights, kids were playing, contractors were building, Utah lake was glass and lawns were freshly cut - is this really fall?!
What a day to appreciate!

check this out!

Seriously, you've gotta check this out - I haven't had time to make use of it yet but I'm sure you will L O V E it!!
Last week I got to go to work (Yay!), my assignment was a fun one! I got to interview and write a story about these two great stay-at-home mom's, Emily and Krista, who came up with the coolest concept - Simplify Supper! Watch Studio 5 tomorrow at 11:00 on KSL, channel 5, they'll be on telling all about it (oh and pay extra attention to the interview and short package they'll play - you won't see me, but you'll see my work and the work of the fun photog Todd). - Oh did I mention, this will forever change dinner time at your house and it's totally FREE!

So now I'm on to all the other fun things I get to do:
Cook and Freeze 8 Beef Briskets for the Ward Christmas Party - December 6th - that's kinda close huh?!
Finalize the program for the Ward Christmas Party.
Do some shopping - I'm slacking this year, haven't even started.
Clean up the house.
Work on a project for Kali's room.
Wrestle the little one for a couple of days while LeGrand is in St. George (working, of course;) and try to get him feeling better, he's had this nasty cough - keeping him and me up all night - and a dang runny nose.
Get Christmas Cards ordered - can you believe it's already that time?!?
Get packed and ready to send Laex to Gramie and Papa's for a WHOLE WEEK - since LeGrand's been working we get to celebrate our Anniversary this weekend (a weekend packed with fun things - planned by LeGrand himself - it's a surprise for me, I Love surprises!) and since Thanksgiving is next weekend Laex gets to hang out with Gramie and Papa - I don't know what I'll do without him!
Oh ya, and get ready for Thanksgiving - I'm bringing the sweet potatoes and pie!

We'll miss you :)

Helinfield, Ed and the kids are officially no longer residents of Utah.

We loved having the cousins kind of close - just an hour and a half away - and now their in Vegas! On their way out of town yesterday, Laex and I got to meet them at McDonalds for a short play and good-bye's. We'll miss having them close, C and Laex are only a couple months apart, but we'll love being able to visit them!

During our fun at McDonalds Laex found his way to the top of the play area, panicked and started crying for "ma ma" - Oh Great! So, I had to crawl through the nasty tunnels to rescue him - he was a bit traumatized, and so was I! LOL

...and the Call came...

...after much anticipation!

Cade's been called to serve our Heavenly King, as a chosen err to Witness for his name.
Dallas, Texas he'll tell the Fathers story and his Love proclaim!
He's ready to Teach and Preach and Work as a Missionary does!

How lucky am I to have a younger brother (I have to say this because he is anything but "little") who is this cool! It seems that he grew up over night, I can't believe this time has already come! I know he will rip it up in the Mission Field, he's well prepared and couldn't be more ready for his Mission. It was just a few months ago he had the opportunity that not many 18-year-old's experience and that was his first baptism, his best friend! What a good kid!

We love you Cade and couldn't be prouder!

Fatty Patty

This has always been Laex's nick-name from his Dad, well, tonight he lived up to it.
This is what my child had to eat between the hours of 5 and 7 pm:
1/2 a Navajo Taco
1 banana
1 Swiss cake roll
1 package fruit snacks
1 go-gurt
1 slice of bread
1 sippy cup of milk
and a few M & M's

Seriously, what do you do when your 15-month-old is already eating like a 15-year-old?!?

How appropriate, here he is sportin a milk mustache!

Turning Point

It seems our country will be taking a turn, whether it be for the worst or the best there isn't much we can do now.
And regardless, this is quite the day in history as we will soon experience the leadership of the first African American President. I'm grateful for the strides our country has made to get us to this event, even if I don't fully agree with the type of leadership it will be. I'm grateful for a Free land to live in, to worship, study, and work as we please.
Yet, I can't help but think of the "perilous times" that seem to be upon us and the teachings of great prophets that are fulfilled daily.
