Girls Camp 2017

Once again I was privileged to join the YW at Girls camp.  This year was just ward camp and we opted for renting a cabin at Bear Lake. BIG Thanks to my awesome hubby and amazing neighbor Laura who are always willing to take care of the kids!

The first day we headed straight to bear lake where we swam for a couple of hours - the weather wasn't that great, in fact at one point we had to run for cover from the rain.  But as soon as we got to the cabin the girls warmed up in the hot tub!

I didn't take half enough pictures - but we enjoyed lots of bonding time over meals, devotionals, guest speakers, service projects and games!

They also had a blast in the pool - we made two different trips to swim in the pool!

They all looked so cute in their Happy Camper sweaters I made for them!

We had such a great time touring minnetonka cave - we joined another group of girls campers on the tour and the guide put a special spiritual twist on the tour for us, it was extra special!  I also loved having LeGrand come for a night and hang out with us as the priesthood leader.

The view from our porch was awesome!

We always end our days with a testimony meeting that never fails to bring the best spirit and allows the girls to share raw heartfelt testimonies that uplift us all!

It's so much work and such a sacrifice to make girls camp happen but I always finish the week feeling so grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with the girls and have the chance to grow spiritually together

other June happenings

With the kids being gone some much on their getaways' to Grammie and Papa's it sure made June go by fast.  While Laex was on his week trip we made our way to Logan and had to stop at our favorite Pink's shaved ice --it's not summer without shaved ice!

The kids were so excited to finally be back together - they each had a fun visit in Vernal but they were sure happy to finally be able to play together! We celebrated with a Monday of fishing and FHE Ice cream night! :)

This was the only fish that was caught and it was on the very first cast...that's about our luck with fishing :)

Free Fishing Day

Free fishing day almost always lands around my B-day, this year it was on Saturday June 10th.  Unfortunately I had gotten sick and was feeling pretty crappy but LeGrand is always up for fun so he took the kids. The day was rainy and overcast but they all got to catch their three fish and Laexin even won a tackle box in the drawing!

Let the summer begin!

The kids and I went to the end of the year assembly where Laex and Loa both got awards (we got Loa's for her since she was away at grammie and papas!)
Of course it started with some selfies by Lytzi :)

Then I took the plunge I've been contemplating for awhile and chopped my hair off - it was a bigger shocker and adjustment than I had anticipated and I'm still trying to get used to it

Each of the kids got to spend between a week and 10 days at grammie and papas, we met them half way and exchanged kids - so after Loa went Lytzi...these two celebrated being back together by sleeping out on the tramp in true summer style!

And then I had a birthday!  Unfortunately I got really sick and wasn't up for doing much but LeGrand did make a nice dinner and get me my favorite buttercream-frosted-store-bought-cake :)

A little playtime at the park with friends

Loa's second week of June was extra busy with swim lessons (by our favorite Suzy) and volleyball came with the Grace High volleyball girls - she had a blast at both.  I'm so pleased with how well her swim skills are improving, she was able to do the back stroke alone clear across the pool!
