Homecoming & Princess Academy

This year for Homecoming Grace High School hosted a Princess Academy - of course Loa was pumped.  It was a fun couple of hours where the girls got to learn how to be princesses, complete with a tea party, proper curtsy's, dancing, tiara's & graduation.  Loa's going to be Elsa for Halloween but her costume didn't show up in time, then I went to her dress ups to find a princess dress and they were hammered, needless to say we settled on a tutu which she was completely happy with.  On our way out the door she made it a point to tell me that she 'really needs some new princess dresses' :) .

All of the princesses also got to be in the Homecoming Parade, along with Anna, Elsa & Rapunzel.

Laex was also super excited to ride his school's float in the parade and be able to throw candy.

And little sister was pretty excited to have all of the candy to herself :)

I love me a good small town football game but with three crazy kids it's just not really a good time :) so we passed on the game and tailgate party.

Just about the time I start feeling isolated, lonely & struggling to be here in Grace I'm once again reminded of the beauty of this place, it's really unbeatable!

We had a fantastic Conference weekend, I really love how it rejuvenates me, we missed LeGrand as he was working but the kids and I had a good time.

The month of October gave us really nice weather here in Grace and the kids have really enjoyed still being able to play outside!

 Painting!

LeGrand had a guy at his work retire unexpectedly which has put a damper on his work schedule.  He just got done working 14 days in a row and only gets 2 days off before he has to go back, I'm SO ready for them to hire a replacement :) The kids and I have gotten creative to fill our time!

Seattle

LeGrand and I had a blast on our get-away to Seattle!  We ate pretty much everything in sight and visited lots of fun places.  It rained nearly the whole time but we were prepared for that and really enjoyed ourselves :)

Here's a few of our highlights!

So much yummy food- we are such foodies, we may/may not plan our trips around food :)

Serious Pie- The soft egg pizza was our favorite

Cupcake Royale- Yummy Ice cream

Falafel King- Delicious shawarma & Falafels

Chowder House - Amazing Clam Chowder

Owl 'n Thistle- Fabulous Fish & Chips

We got to see & do lots of fun 'Seattle Stuff"!

The space needle

Ferry to Brainbridge Island. We walked a trail along the waterfront and found tons of fresh black berries, they were yum :)

 Seattle Aquarium

 Pikes place

 The Gum Wall

Seattle free walking tour- highly recommend this, so fun!

Potato Harvest 2014

September 22- October 7 was set to be our Potato Harvest Break.

The First week of Harvest we visited our favorite Stoddards for our free fries & 50 lb bags of taters then LeGrand & I headed to Seattle for 5 days and the kids stayed with the Dillons.  Laex keeps calling Stocky & Dax his 'cousins', I've tried to explain that they aren't 'technically' his cousins he still calls them cousins - they practically are :)

Playing in the Sprinklers at Jen's

Playing at McDonalds with Jen!

We had a great time in Seattle and the kids were spoiled rotten by Jen!

The second week of Harvest we spent trying to recover from being gone :)  The kids were getting really irritable.  Loa actually still had school because her teacher had to cancel one week so she made up the second week of harvest.  Laex starts getting quite naughty, doesn't like to listen or help & he and Loa start fighting more and more I've been feeling extra ready for school to start again.  Unfortunately we've had about 5 days of rain here in Grace which puts a huge damper on harvest and once again, like last year, they've extended Harvest another week (3 weeks of school off, it's crazy!) so now I have to figure out how to keep myself sane for another week!
