Chatter-Box

I know I've said this before, but this handsome little guy is such a jabber-er!
He surprises me everyday with is ability to talk and remember!

This whole week he's been reminding me that the truck dumped rocks in the yard, when he says it - it sounds more like "chuck dum rot".

The other day I gave him a small treat cup full of dried fruits to eat, pretty soon he came in saying, "ma ma mess, mess ma ma" - oh great! He had dumped the fruits everywhere, nothing new - at least he told me about it.

He has started to call the slide at the park a "wee" (because that's what he says when he goes down the slide:) Well, every time we pass the little neighborhood park he says, "wee ma ma, please". He'd live there if he could! Yesterday he was looking at one of his books and I could hear him saying, "wee, wee" - sure enough there was a slide in the book!

LeGrand likes to watch a show on the Discovery Channel called Cash Cab. Yesterday I was on the computer and Laex was playing with the remote - he turned the T.V. on and started jabbering, "Ca Cab, Ca Cab" pointing at the T.V. - it wasn't until I looked up at the T.V. that I realized he was saying, "Cash Cab" - yep, it was on T.V.

I've caught him a couple of times in the last few days in his bedroom singing, "ashes ashes, down!" They must do ring-around-the-rosies in Nursery!

rocks

I can't decide if I Love or Hate all these rocks

Last Thursday we had 15.18 TON of rocks delivered which we have been shoveling, wheel-barrowing, dumping and spreading...I'm tired just thinking about the work we've been doing :)

See for yourself...

From this:

To this:

Of course we still need to plant some more trees and bushes, but we're getting there...

I will NEVER have another house without a finished yard! :)

Make sure you're sitting...

Seriously. Sit down for this one.

Last week about this time I was making my daily trip to the DI - my rounds at the DI are usually the same and rarely involve looking at the clothes, I just don't usually have much luck in their clothing. Once in a while I check out Laex's size just-in-case there is something fantastic. Well, this was a day I did just that and there on the rack was this:

(don't they usually lock these types of things in the glass case and put an outrageous price on them??)

For REAL...and It's REAL (and in perfect condition) the price ONE WHOLE DOLLAR. LeGrand just happened to be with me - he didn't get why I NEEDED to buy this, especially because it is size 6 months and won't even come close to fitting Laex (he was obviously CLUELESS to this DESIGNER label).

So what did I do with this shirt --put it on ebay (of course), the selling price...
$30.01

Now that's a profit :) $$Cha-Ching$$

(truth is, it exceeded even my expectations --I'm still in shock)

Grow, Baby, Grow!

This, my friends, is the beginning of some SERIOUS GOODNESS!

So much new life around here! I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself! I officially have beets, lettuce, peas, turnips and onions popping their little heads up!! And, thanks to my great Dad I've got my green, red and yellow peppers along with my cherry, roma and beef steak (the "big daddy") tomatoes - he started them all from seed weeks ago, don't they look awesome!

Man, I can't wait for the goodness!

It's on the way!

As I lay here enjoying the breeze through the open window (I L.O.V.E fresh air through an open window) and thinking about the beautiful day I can't help but get a bit excited about the summertime that is on it's way! :)

Easter etc.

We had a fun Easter weekend - LeGrand had to work but Kenzie stayed the weekend with us and helped us play! The weather was rainy and cold but we still braved Laex's first Easter Egg hunt and visit with the Bunny - Laex didn't like him much :)

We also played at the park!

Sunday we had a nice dinner and found surprises from the Bunny!

Monday Laex and I headed to Vernal to surprise Papa with his very own "Easter Bunny" - a baby Flemish Giant. Laex had a blast with Papa and Grammie and playing with Avi.

Mr. Independent!

I've made Laexin into a dipper.
Everything we eat that requires dipping, he has to dip too (ranch, fry sauce, salsa etc.).
Well, the other day we were having grilled cheese for lunch - of course it's better dipped in Tomato soup, so I had a bowl of soup and left Laex with it, to dip, while I finished up something in the kitchen.
He got quiet -
I looked over to check on him and there he was feeding himself soup (I normally feed him things of this nature so I don't have to deal with the mess :), he exclaimed, "bot (ie. "bite"), ma ma, bot" --since the damage was already done I just let him finish the whole bowl, which he thouroughly enjoyed!

Smarty pants

Yesterday we pulled into the parking lot of Wal-Mart.
A quiet and content Laex said enthusiastically from the back seat, "wal-want".
LeGrand looked at me surprised, then laughed.

Um, crap - does it mean I spend too much time at this store when my 20 1/2 month old can identify it by the parking lot?!

I'll just consider it a super smart boy!

Celebrating

LeGrand had a Birthday and we got to Celebrate on Monday night due to his need to be in class (calculus) on Tuesday - Happy Birthday, right? Anyway, we had some dinner then headed bowling -it's been awhile. We had fun, but one game was just enough as we were worn out after chasing Laex down to rescue the bowling balls from him. He's obsessed with balls so he was in heaven - he also thinks he's big enough to carry around the bowling balls.

They even had bowling shoes in his size, SO CUTE!

keeping busy

I'm not loving this WINTER weather, especially when it is supposed to be SPRING! --But, it has given me the perfect time to get all of my SPRING CLEANING accomplished! We also got to spend last weekend in the back-yard, YAY!
I got part of my garden planted -Peas, Carrots, Beats, Lettuce, Turnips and Onions- and LeGrand got the Gazebo put up (minus the fabric - we didn't want it to end up at the neighbors house:) He'll be glad to tell you that is the part he is MOST proud of!

And...remember that DARLING wallpaper that was coming my way --I couldn't be happier with how ADORABLE it makes my Laundry Room...now, if I could only find some vintage cabinets...
