Crazy kids!

I caught these two out back in their PJ's playing with the chickens - they really love the chickens.  Both Linq and Lytzi carry them around and I can often catch out back just following them around, he calls them 'bop bop's' --his way of saying 'bock bock' :)

These kids have the best imaginations, I love it!  This particular weekend they were having 'wars' and they asked me to get a picture of them all dressed up in their gear :) they even equipped Linq!

We love Homecoming time!  The kids got to ride on their school float in the parade -of course I forgot to take a picture - then we had fun at the pre-game activities and even made it to half time watching the football game.  These small town activities make me so glad to live where we do!  The older kids were off with friends --I only got this one picture of Linq playing.  They also had cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn!

Friday Night Lights - look at that beautiful view!

Every time the band played during the game the two littles would get up and give us a dance show- the people around us got a kick out of our own little entertainers :)

Pig Roast Luau

Dad was nice enough to come up and help us roast a pig for the Thatcher back to school party where we had a Luau.  LeGrand helped our friend Wes Lunt get the pig all killed and scraped about 10 days before, it turned out great and we had a pretty good turnout.  I didn't get great pictures but we had some fun polenisians come and do entertainment and also provide with the sides for our dinner --they brought some guava cake that was SOOO yummy!

Linq & Lytzi, Eclipse, Eggs...and other randoms!

These two are such frenimies :)  They are either fighting, or making mischief together  - they love their time together but they are missing the other kids while they are away at school.  And Linq still isn't quite sure what to do with himself on the days Lytzi is gone to school -- the first day he cried all the way home and for 10 minutes when we got home them he fell asleep :)

I viewed the eclipse at home - all by myself.  LeGrand was in st. George, the older kids had a viewing party at school and I just let the younger ones play without even telling them, ha --I figured they wouldn't really care anyway.  :)

I couldn't really get a great picture on my phone --but thought the shadow on the car looked pretty cool --it was interesting how it got eerily dark when full coverage happened.

Our garden has been sad this year -started out looking great but just hasn't really flourished, but we did get some fresh tomatoes and our sweet friends brought us fresh corn so it was the perfect night for BLT's & Corn!

Loa started growing this sunflower in a pot, she's pretty proud that it's done so well!

Laexin takes a spill on the slip-n-slide

LeGrands parents invited us to the Soda Springs Hospital employee family fun night  - LeGrand was in St. George, it was the Thursday evening after school started and the kids were pumped to go get dinner, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, face paint and play on the big slip-n-slide.

We had only been there about 15 min. when Laexin was trying to go down the slip-n-slide on his feet and took a spill, I saw him hit his face but just figured he's had a fat lip or something - then he sat at the bottom of the slide and got a panicked look on his face saying his tooth was out, maybe two teeth - I walked up and took one look and knew it was bad.  I was holding a wet wipe I had used to wipe Linqs face and stuffed it in his mouth, grabbed LeGrands Dad who said he would walk him into the ER - then I lined out the kids with Oma and grabbed my purse and headed into the ER.

He had somehow managed to hit just his one crooked tooth that sticks out a little (LeGrand calls it his snaggle tooth) and ripped it straight out of his mouth ripping his gum clear up to where it connects with his lip and pulling that permanent tooth, root and all straight out.

The Nurse Practitioner in the ER luckily got a hold of a local dentist right away who told her to stick the tooth back in and he'd be in in about 15 min and take care of it.  - Laex never had any medicine and I about passed out watching the lady stuff his tooth back in--he was so tough.

The dentist came and we went from the ER to his office just down the road, an hour later he was all fixed up.  The dentist had to hold the tooth and do a root canal on it because the nerve was too damaged.  We also discovered that he had chipped off piece of his jaw bone that was lodged in his gum, after the dentist got the tooth all back in and stitched it up good he was confident the bone piece would live since it still had a good amount of blood flow in the gum and the tooth should re-set also. Since it was late, after hours - I filled in as the dental assistant, it was quite the experience, ha!

School Starts! 5th, 2nd & Pre-school

We had such a fun, eventful summer it was hard to believe it was already time to go back.  The kids were ready (and so was I ;) ) They were so excited to start their new grades with new teachers...Laexin is in his last year at our little Thatcher elementary, it's so bittersweet!  LeGrand had to work in St. George for a week , but since school was starting we stayed home --we hate when he's gone, but we always survive.

Lytzi didn't start pre-school until a week after the kids started school and it about drove her crazy wating!  She loves school and two days a week just isn't enough :)
