Thanksgiving in Texas

Since all my siblings live in west Texas we decided we'd take a road trip and go visit for Thanksgiving --it was 1100 miles each way (17 hrs. in the car)!  It was quite the road trip - the kids actually did really well.

We stopped just outside of Cortez Colorado on the way down, and stayed at an Indian casino - the kids thought it was Awesome! :)

Since we were going that far we had to make a stop at four corners.  It was chilly and totally off season which was actually to our advantage - we heard there's usually quite a line to just get a picture, we didn't have to wait at all, in fact we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

We passed through 5 states and tried to get pictures at most of them :)

We were SO happy to finally get out of the car.
We had a great week hanging out with family.  The kids did lots of playing!

We had an awesome Thanksgiving all together (Mom and Dad had also drove down).

Did a little black Friday shopping, got to visit Cade and Shaylee, and also see Kenz's new house she and Jed are building.

Time went by too fast and before we knew it we were back on the road for home.  Mom and Dad followed us.  We stopped in Roswell, NM for some breakfast and had to get some pictures with an Alien before we left town --the kids were pretty disappointed we didn't go to the Alien museum.

Then on to Kanab where we stayed the night --it was a long 11 hr day of driving,  the last 6 hours the next day.  It's always nice to be home but we sure had a fun time making memories!
