Easter

Easter landed on April 17th this year but our winter still wasn't giving up!  It was chilly and there was still snow on the ground but we braved the Easter Egg hunt.  LeGrand was working and Laexin wasn't interested :)

The kids scored lots of fun goodies!

Later we colored Easter Eggs

On Sunday we made kabobs...Laexin was having a good time 'tenderizing' the meat, ha ha!

The kids got to hunt for their Easter baskets...Everyone got a new pair of summer shoes!

It was a pretty low-key time but we enjoyed a laid back weekend together

Loa turns 12!

Loa had a birthday on April 14th!  Can't believe she is 12!!  For her birthday she asked for money so that she could go shopping and buy what she wanted.  She got money from us and money from Grammie and Papa, I let her skip school and took her to Logan for a fun Birthday day!

She wasn't that thrilled to get snow for her birthday...

Loa is funny, whitty, easygoing, owns who she is, loves animals, drawing and creating things --we are so glad she's a part of our family and can't believe she's already a tweenager!

Campaigns & Bikes

The beginning of April Loa decided to campaign for vice president for next years first year of Jr. High she wanted a Napoleon Dynamite theme - came up with all the ideas herself and got to work making posters and signs...I helped her hang them up.  During the week they had a day where they all had to do a speech or something and she wanted to do the Napoleon Dynamite dance so I helped teach her most of it and she did an awesome job on the day of performance!  In the end she didn't win the election but I'm proud of her for going for something she wanted to try and doing her best!

One day the kids were out playing and Linq really wanted to learn to ride his bike without training wheels, so Loa said she would help him.  They weren't out there 5 minutes before she came in and said to come watch - he had basically jumped on his bike and rode!  He loves to ride everywhere now!

Salt Lake Weekend

At the end of March we decided to take a quick trip to Salt Lake --we took Laexin to his first concert JOURNEY!!  It was so fun!

The next day we met up with my parents in Provo for a farewell lunch as they had just finished their time at the MTC and were headed to Washington to serve in the Yakima Mission

Then we spent all afternoon playing at the Provo Beach Resort...the kids had a blast!

Laexin was the only one who did the wave rider...he caught on pretty quickly!

March Misc.

An Early morning drive to the city to see Laex compete in his first track meet which just happened to be in Herriman.  Although this was the only pic I took - it was a chilly windy day, Jen was able to stop by for a bit and it was awesome to catch up with her...then on our way home we had to stop in Farmington to load up my booth

More 'beauties of the earth' --if pictures could only show how amazing the moon really looked!

Loa wend into YW in January and was SO excited -- they have done some really fun activities, during march they decorated cupcakes.

There is a guy on Facebook who posts old pictures of the Vernal area from years ago - this one popped up with my dad in it and I had to show it to the kids...they couldn't believe that was their Papa!  He's the one in the turtleneck.

Welcome to March

LeGrand made a big deal this particular morning because Loa was the first one down for breakfast --it's pretty well known at our place that Loa is generally pulling up the rear -she just gets distracted and forgets what she's supposed to be doing - ha ha!

The last couple of months of school I'm pretty sure that Linq was eating his glue sticks - about every other week I would get a text that he needed more.

Early in the year I had decided to try and fit in a couple more shows, it was an really an experiment to see if I could find any more that I like and also to add to what I was already doing.  I worked my butt off and did a show in Farmington which turned out to be a total bust - it's hard to put so much time and energy into something and then have it feel like a waste.  In the end, I am grateful for what I learned - one of which was a new display, and I'm glad to know I won't have to try that show again!

For St. Pattys day we had green waffles and green milk

And of course my holiday tree got a rainbow and clover theme

The most spoiled member of this household...but how can you not just love her!
