Halloween 2020

Halloween was as normal as it could be this year, and we were thrilled to still have some fun activities.  The school held a small carnival the week of Halloween.  Then on Halloween we got to go to the Trunk or Treat at John Adams ford in Soda Springs followed by free Chili and Hot Dogs at Sam's market and some trick or treating all around town.  We were actually looking forward to the Halloween walk through at the Andersons and drove clear out there to discover they had cancelled it, they were just nervous with the recent COVID spike that they decided they couldn't hold it this year...bummer!  I'm seriously over all this COVID crap!  There was a recent spike in our community so the kids had to start wearing masks to school -- I hate it, I don't think they do any good and I'm over feeling like we have to live out of fear of retaliation.  I've heard so many first-hand stories from people who have gotten it and had it be very minimal effects, and those who know people who have died from other things but claim the death as COVID.  It just doesn't add up for me and it doesn't feel right to shut down our whole lives over something that I believe isn't as big of a deal as it is being made out to be.

After wearing their Halloween costumes to school they found some others in the costume box to dress up as something different for the carnival!

They got SO MUCH junk!

North Logan Pumpkin Walk

On October 16th I took the kids to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk, with COVID and all it's disruptions it feels so good when we still get to do some things we love!  We had a fun time seeing all the creative pumpkin displays!

Vintage Market Days

All Summer I've been prepping for Market Day weekend!  It's so much work!  Lots of time goes into getting ready for a show but I love the atmosphere and I did so well last year ($6,000 for the weekend) that it's worth it!  It was October 8-10

Well one thing I can say about 2020 is it didn't disappoint - the show was incredible!  I DOUBLED my sales from the previous year, $12,000 in sales - I was blown away!!  I don't know if people were just so happy to get out of their houses and do something fun or what but it was packed and SO successful.

I was really overcome with gratitude after cleaning up and heading home.  This little 'side gig/hobby' has already surpassed my wildest dreams.  It's been hard, filled with so much work, sleepless nights and stress - but all those things brought me to where I am!  I know that Heavenly Father is in the details, that he has helped my efforts be successful that he has brought it at the right time--after about a decade of trying to find 'my thing', I have found it!  It brings me so much joy and fulfillment, not to mention the extra income comes at the perfect time as we build our new home!

This year I worked with Nepal to design a Nativity set, some Tree skirts and other items.  I am especially proud of the Nativity as it has been in my head for years. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out and how well it has been received --I had 15 sets and sold them out in the first 2 days of Market and had 8 pre-orders the 3rd day.

Natalie was nice enough to come help me out the first two days.  Mom and Dad's house is under construction (remodel) so they came up for a couple of days too, it was fun to have them.  LeGrand brought the kids Friday and Saturday - they love the market!  Shylo and the girls came Saturday too! I'm so happy for all the support.

Potato Harvest

The younger kids were gone for about half of harvest and Laexin was hard at work  --it's long days but he sure enjoys the paycheck at the end!  Luckily they only had about one day with rain so it was a successful harvest without disruptions!  Mom and Dad brought the kids home and stayed a couple of days.

When Mom and Dad brought the kids back they brought us some of their halibut and Salmon from their Alaska trip...the kids love it!

Right after harvest we finally got the slab poured for our House floor --the progress has felt really slow but I'm grateful when things happen.  I'm going to document the whole build in its own book!

Visit to Vernal

The middle of September we got to go to Vernal where Cade and Shaylee were having Baby Rock blessed.  The kids had so much fun playing with cousins!  When it was time for us to leave my parents suggested the 3 youngest stay to hang out with the cousins for the week then they would bring them back to Grace.  It worked perfect as we were out of school for Potato harvest the following two weeks.

Using her mask to help her sleep 😂

We love baby Rock!

These cousins had so much fun getting pushed crazy high by LeGrand

Go Cart is always a big hit!

The kids had SO much fun getting to stay the week and play their hearts out, we don't get to see our cousins nearly enough!!

After Cade, Shaylee and the kids left it was a bit quiet, and bare!  Mom and Dad were prepping for a remodel so they had cleared the place out!

They took advantage of the remodel and got to draw on Grammies walls...

On the way home they stopped to see the Kokanee Salmon
