Weekend with Grammie and Papa

Grammie & Papa came out to celebrate Laex's B-day with him early.  We did everything HE wanted :)  We had dinner at "Bonita's" (as he calls it) Friday night then went swimming in the pool {I have two water babies who just can't get enough of it! } and had a small firework show.

Then Saturday the 23rd we had a fun time at Discovery Gateway & playing in the fountains!  Grammie and Papa had to head home but we ended the day with a fun {CRAZY} neighborhood firework show!  LeGrand was lighting fireworks and one tipped over and went crazy shooting everywhere - luckily no one got too badly injured {especially all the kiddos that were running around}, but we did have a few burns.

Wheeler Farm

The kids and I met my good Friend from High School {Dani} at Wheeler farm, we had a fun time with the animals and a yummy lunch at Chick Fil A!

Fruits & Veggies!

One of my FAVORITE things about summer time is the opportunity to grow a garden.  It's a lot of work, prepping, planting, watering, fertalizing, keeping the weeds out then harvesting!

BUT, the rewards are so exciting!
We've had lots of peas & we're enjoying every last one of them, they are almost done producing!

We've also had turnips, beets & carrots!

Our cherry tree even produced nicely for us this year!  And, our raspberries are just coming on!

I can't wait to enjoy the cucumbers, corn on the cob, tomatoes, spinach, squash, watermelon, peppers & other garden goodies!

Our garden this year has done okay so far but we have noticed that it isn't growing as well as previous years which is probably due to the crazy weather we've had this summer!

Week without LeGrand

I'm pretty much the luckiest girl alive to be married to this Hottie!  And to say I'm lost without him would be an understatement!

He had to make an unexpected week-long trip to St. George and because we just returned from there & I had things to do at home, the kids and I stayed home.  It was a long, lonely week (I get SO lonely when he's gone & I don't get much sleep without him!)  But luckily I had great friends to spend time with and the kids and I kept ourselves busy with fun stuff everyday!

We got our Slurpees on 7/11 :)

We worked in the yard and spent lots of time picking veggies {mostly peas} in the garden!

We had picnic's & played at the park!

We played in the sprinklers!

And we spent time at lunch with friends, shopping, reading books, watching movies and of course cleaning the house for our Dad's arrival!  We're so happy he's back at home with us, and I know I could NEVER be a military wife because a week is long enough for me!

13.1

Completed my 2nd half marathon on July 9th, the hobbler half. I was hoping to beat my first time, but I didn't - that's okay though, I still feel I did good and I know there will be more opportunities--I ended at 2 hours 11 min. flat!  It was more difficult than last years, possibly because of the rolling hills, or the fact that I wasn't trained as well, or probably both :)!  But the good thing is, I felt twice as good the next day than I did after my first one so hopefully it just gets better!  I was lucky enough to spend most of the run with Brittney, and also have my great friend {and traveling buddy} Mariah there!  So fun!

The kids had fun with LeGrand while they waited for me to arrive, the race got started 30 min. late so they had extra time to play!
