A visit from the Davenports!

YAY! After 3 years we finally got the Davenports to come visit, we couldn't have been more thrilled to have a little piece of Washington in our home for 5 days!
They arrived on Friday July 27th late and we had fun catching up.
 Carson Chicken 😆

On Saturday they had a family reunion in Lava all day, and I was busy helping decorate for the fair and then celebrating Lytzis b-day so it worked out.
Sunday we had church, a BBQ then we left the kids home while LeGrand and I took Bethany and Lynn on a little tour of Grace and his power plants. And of course we did lots of playing!

Monday we stopped by the fair so the kids could enter their stuff, then we hung out until LeGrand got off work.

Then we decided to go on an adventure that none of us had been on - FLUMING!  Ever since we moved here we've heard about fluming (and because LeGrand works with the water he knows all about it) but the talk has always been negative.  Most people said their parents forbid them from going when they were in high school and that you should stay away because its so dangerous.  Well we found ourselves some tour guides who had done it plenty before (the Lunts) and decided to give it a try.  You can choose just to go through the flume or start and go through the cave, side of the mountain, right into the flume - and of course LeGrand says go big or go home so we drag all our kids to the opening of the cave and jump in!

It was quite the adventure, everyone had a blast and it ended up being the highlight of their visit!  The worst part is getting back across the flume.  There's just a bunch of boards that have been brought in by high schoolers and laid across the metal bar and lots of them are tipsy and cracking -- that was by far the scariest part.  But we got back across and rode through a second time.  The kids all did great and wanted to keep going!  Loa struggled to get walking across the top the first time but by the second time she was cruising.

After fluming we stopped at the big rope swing -- all the adults and older kids had fun swinging, I was terrified but did it twice --couldn't be showed up by Laexin :)

Tuesday we hung out most of the day until LeGrand got off work then we headed to the fair for some fair food, checking out the animals and to watch the Cowboy Games.

Then we enjoyed our last evening together --it was so sad to think our time was coming to an end.  We had such a great visit that we weren't ready for it to be over!

The next morning they were on their way back home 😢 We are already making plans for next summer, can't wait!
