Sunday Getaway

It doesn't happen often, but once in a while on a Sunday when LeGrand is working (it's usually on a Stake Conference Sunday) I just don't want to muster up the energy to wrestle the kids at church.  This particular Sunday May 3rd we decided to visit LeGrand at work since there are a few places he works that we haven't seen yet.  It was a perfect day, we packed a picnic and drove about 45 min. to meet up with LeGrand at his Yale plant.  It was beautiful and you can see the snow topped Mt. St. Helens just in the distance.

We then headed down to Merwin plant and had a picnic lunch and the kids got to play on the playground before the kids and I headed for home while LeGrand finished his work day.

Crazy Girlies

Loa is constantly asking me to 'take a picture'!

Here she is at the Home Fabrics store on our Utah trip, apparently she liked these fabrics :)

Trying out props on a trip to the craft store!

This morning she specifically asked me to take this picture and send it to Grammie and Papa and tell them she was going to be a skateboarded when she grows up.  Then she got on the skateboard for about 2 min. and that was enough :)
They always have fun dressing up!

Loa will have Lytzi chase her and Lytzi grabs her from behind and squeezes tight, they both think it's hilarious!

Lytzi got tripped and hit the corner of the closet door, poor girl had a bad bump.  This was the morning after when it was actually looking pretty good - she was just enjoying her b-fast smoothie :)

This girl loves to eat!  She couldn't get enough of this chocolate pudding!

On a trip to the goodwill, Loa found all sorts of hats to model - and of course, asked me to take a picture :)

I often find Lytzi 'in' things, here she's just trying out the wire basket :)

Playing Legos

Love these girls so much!

Spring Soccer

Laex LOVES soccer and was excited to start here in Vancouver.  He scored two of his teams 4 goals during the first game!  And I'm one of those crazy Mom's who probably gets a bit to 'into' the games :)

The girls love explore while Laex is playing!

They had a fun end of the year get together BBQ with all of the soccer kids and handed out medals!

A 'too quick' trip to Utah & Idaho

Our good friend Paige Mecum was getting married on the 18th of April and we just couldn't miss it.  So we packed  up and took a quick trip to SLC.  We left on the evening of Thursday the 16th and  the night in  Boise, then headed the rest of the way to SLC on Friday the 17th.  LeGrand, Lytiz and I stayed the night with the Belchers & had a fabulous time catching up, we miss not seeing our good friends more often.

Laex & Loa got to spend the night at the Dillons where it's always a party.  They had a blast!

Saturday we stopped quickly and said hi to the Holleys in Lindon then on to the wedding in Orem.  We showed up and surprised Paige who didn't know we were coming.  It was so great to be there and see so many old friends!

We only got to stick around for a short time then we were on our way for a surprise visit to Grace!!

It was SO fun to surprise our awesome Johnson friends in Grace.  I had previously arranged to stay with Norm and Nina & they had Laura, Nick and the kids over when we showed up.  It was such a nice visit and time catching up.  We got to spend Sunday in Grace and visit the ward, it was just like being home :)  Our time came to an end way too quickly!

On Monday morning we took Laexin to visit Thatcher school, all the kids were SO excited to see him.  I had to hold back tears.  It was such a great visit and once again we said our goodbyes and were back on the road to home.

We arrived back in Vancouver around 8:30 pm, it was a long trip for a short amount of time but we were so glad we took the opportunity and got to see so many great friends!

A visit from cousins & Loa turns 5!

In mid April we got to have the Hanecaks visit for a few days (all the way from FL!).  The kids had a great time playing with their cousins!

Loa was excited to have cousins around to help celebrate her birthday and chose to go to Chuck E Cheese - the kids had a blast!

After a breakfast of birthday funfetti pancakes we said our goodbyes and the cousins headed for home.

Can't believe this lady is 5 YEARS OLD!

Loa got spoiled rotten with all kinds of nice gifts from Aunts & Uncles and cousins that all arrived in the mail :)

For her Birthday out dinner she picked her favorite...Sushi :)

She chose a 'decorate your own' ice cream birthday cake & her and Laex loved piling on the frosting. Looks delicious, huh??

An a great big present from Grammie and Papa!

Happy birthday to our uber creative, lives in her own world, spunky, fun, blonde bombshell!  This girl definitely gives me a run for my money but we love her to pieces!
