Visiting our PNW family!

We weren't planning to make it to Washington this year, but with a little encouragement from friends and a 24th of July weekend holiday we decided to make it happen --we sure love and miss Washington, our time was so short there but it holds such a big place in our hearts.  We did the drive in a day to maximize our time - the kids did pretty good.  One of my favorite sights along the way are the many windmill farms, we stopped in Pendelton,OR for some food.

On our first day we headed to visit the food trucks in Portland...oh how we miss the food trucks!  And then onto our favorite Ice Cream at Salt and Straw!

The next day Linda and Larry took us on an adventure to the beach.  We went to Fort Stevens and checked out the cool old military base then onto the shipwreck on the beach.  Afterward we grabbed lunch at costco (cause we had to pick up a few things) then took a long detour home because of a problem with the bridge making it unable to get across.

We were just hanging out on the beach when someone came running up yelling my name...it was Heather!  What are the odds??!?  So fun to run into her.

The next day we met up with the Burnetts and the Davenports at horseshoe lake...it was a great time of catching up---just sad we forgot to get a picture of all the kids, they've grown a bit since last year :)

We went to church Sunday and enjoyed seeing all our friends then went and saw the Burnetts new house and had dinner with Larry - Linda had gotten sick overnight and was resting.  Then we went and visited with Davenports.  Got up early Monday morning and headed for home, sure love the view of the sun coming up over the Colombia River
