LeGrand's work took us once again to St. George June 29th - July 5th! This is the first time we've had to go in July and the weather was too hot for me! It was over 110 every day we were there, if we weren't by the pool or at the splash park we were hiding out somewhere indoors :)
We didn't do anything too exciting for the 4th, pretty much we just hung out at the park and watched fireworks on TV {I WILL be in NY on the 4th of July someday :) } from the hotel :) By that time in our trip we were all ready to head home! 5 days in a motel with two kids is enough for me :)

Vernal Visit
While I was enjoying my LA getaway, LeGrand took the kids and went to Vernal for the weekend. He and Laex joined Papa at his ward's Father and Sons and then they all enjoyed the ward Pig Roast! What an awesome Dad!

L.A.
I have the BEST hubby in the world! Last year he surprised me with THIS for my B-day and this year he sent me on a girls trip with MJ to LA! He NEVER dissappoints!
While I was away he was super Dad & took the kids to Vernal to visit Grammie & Papa! Thanks Babe, You're the BEST!
The trip was a BLAST!
The first night brought enough memories to last the whole trip...we stayed in a motel that felt like it was smack dab in the middle of Mexico, to refer to the pillow's as pancakes is a HUGE understatement and when we asked for more we were told "it wouldn't be possible" (WHAT??), then we were brought a furry 'body pillow' instead (EWWWW), the bed was like a rock, we were woke at least three times in the night allowing us about 4 hours of total sleep, the walls had paint splotches that looked much like they were trying to 'cover something up'.... BUT, we'll NEVER forget it and we got some seriously good laughs out of that place, LOVE the memories! --my Man who RARELY goes wrong slipped up on this one :)--
I also failed to mention that we had the BEST Street Tacos that night at a little joint where maybe one of the workers spoke English, between the two of us we navigated with our broken Spanish and really enjoyed our dinner!
I took it into my hands to find us a better place to stay the rest of the trip & it was MUCH better --we felt like we went from Mexico to Disneyland! Thank you DoubleTree!
We spent Friday, downtown LA at the fashion district and shopping the Citadel outlets and enjoyed ourselves some yummy Italian for dinner!
Saturday we were up and at it early as we had to fit in an 11 miler in prep for our upcoming 1/2 marathon! We found a sweet route from Griffith Park Observatory to the famed Hollywood sign and decided we would attempt it --it was supposed to be a 6.5 mile round trip but because we got off track and did some back tracking and took a few wrong turns we were already over 6 miles by the time we finally made it to the Hollywood sign & it was more like a hike/run as that 6 miles was primarily uphill! We were exhausted by the time we made it to the top! { We also weren't prepared with anything to hydrate us because we had figured we would be back to the car by this point (thank heavens some nice people to mercy and shared Gatorade & water with us) }The last 4.5 miles were mostly downhill, yay! We were so happy to see the car again!

We grabbed some fabulous fish taco's for lunch then hit up the Dwell on Design show where we gawked at all the sweet modern products and displays.

Then we spent the evening at Santa Monica Pier & devoured our yummy seafood dinner!

Sunday we took it easy, checked out of the motel & headed to the downtown farmers market & The Grove! We headed to the airport around 4, just as we checked in our car (our trusty Chevy HHR) and got on the shuttle bus to the airport we got a text saying our flight was 3.5 hours delayed - GREAT! We were disappointed we hadn't been notified just 15 min. earlier, dang!
Luckily though they redirected us so we flew to Oakland then to SLC. Mr. Steve Young and his whole family were on our flight!

Such a fun getaway!

Dad's Day!
I LOVE any day I get to celebrate the two BEST guys I know!
First, My DAD!
There are so many reasons I KNOW I hit the jackpot! My Dad is the GREATEST! He's the ultimate example & teacher! He's talented, patient, loving, sincere, caring, honest, real, strong, devoted, spiritual, funny & smart! He works hard, and lives his life for his family! There's no one better! Sure Love him!
Next, the DAD of my kids! But more importantly my BEST MAN!
LeGrand is so perfect for me! He makes me happier than anyone. Not only is he more than I could have ever asked for, I know that someday our kids will say the same things about him that I say about my Dad! I'm so blessed to have him as a husband & my kids are so lucky to call him Dad!
For Fathers Day Laex helped me put together a treasure hunt. We made clues and buried treasure boxes around the yard that led him to his ultimate treasure, a pressure washer! LeGrand spent half the day at work and then it rained a bit so it was a rainy, wet treasure hunt but he was pumped about the surprise so I guess I did well!

We sure Love Him!

ME!
So, I had a Birthday - I really LOVE birthdays! Just a couple more years & I'll no longer be able to say I'm in my Twenties, but lets not talk about that!
Anyway, we celebrated with a spur of the moment trip to Lagoon with Mom & Kenz, it was a blast - I haven't been there for at least 5 years & I really enjoyed myself!
AND, my fantastic hubby who ALWAYS comes through, surprised me with a trip to LA, to THIS with MJ - just a girls weekend - YAY! And, of course, I'll be spending some time HERE, can't wait!
I've really been contemplating things I'm loving right now in my life, though I still feel 21, I'm not, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
I LOVE being a Mom -these two test my patience & remind me how to be selfless, all at the same time! I LOVE them!

I LOVE that I just retired my 1st pair of running shoes & still don't consider myself a runner :) {I can't say ENOUGH about Brooks running shoes, I said goodbye to my Ghost 3's & got me some new Glycerine 8's - LOVE them!}
I LOVE being married to the man of my dreams, someone who believes in me, stands by me, makes me want to be better, someone who is perfect for me! I LOVE his little quirkiness' & the thoughtful things he does, like when he shows up from work with these, cut by him, put in the best thing he had available, and they go right on the table, just.like.that! LOVE HIM!

I LOVE that I'm learning how to just be me. To be confident & content with who I am.
I LOVE that I enjoy escaping through creative outlets & gardening!
I LOVE that I'm always open to new things, meeting new people, experiencing life in different ways!
I LOVE that I was born with a strong will & determination!
I LOVE that I'm blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the knowledge of Forever Families & a Savior who provided a way for us to become perfect, the Scriptures, and a Testimony of these things!
