Off to TX

We ended up deciding on a house from photos online...Kenz visited it for us and it looked like it would be a fine fit.  It definitely needed some updates but was in a good neighborhood and we liked the location.  So, we pulled the kids out of school a couple of weeks early, all except Laexin who stayed to finish his senior year...and headed for Texas.

It was kind of a shock to arrive to a house that had many more issues than we were expecting, I spent several days crying and wondering if we had made the worst decision of our lives.  We now had to dump even more money into a place that already cost us so much, not to mention all of the work we had ahead --it was so disheartening!  We didn't have much choice so we got right to work.  I started by power washing out the garage so we had a place to store all of our stuff as we worked on projects inside.  We needed new windows as all of the windows that were openable had major water damage and were caulked shut.  The sprinkling system had to worked on several times even though it was already supposed to have been fixed.  The water softener hadn't been used in years, even though it was supposed to be working. And it felt like every time we turned around there was another issue to deal with.  The kids bathroom shower had been haphazardly remodeled and they didn't even build a curb on it to keep the water from flowing all over the bathroom and the master shower had water damage...along with about a million other things, ha!

Had our first dinner in TX at Texas Roadhouse!

I scrubbed down the place for the first day, as you can imagine it hadn't been cleaned very good.  We decided to start by painting, we painted all of the kids bedrooms, down the hall and the main living room all white...I just needed a fresh pallet.  Then we were able to get the kids rooms put together and unpacked so they at least felt some stability.

We were excited to have Cade, Shaylee and the kids come visit.

LeGrand finished the paint in the living room the day before we had to head back to Idaho for Laexins graduation!
