Oregon and Washington!

I've been aching to return and visit our friends in Washington for a few years now...it's like going home!  We decided, like usual, to take a little trip to the coast first.  We took a different route than we normally do and we went right through Lebanon so we stopped by Blake and Julia's, Blake was working but Julia gave us a tour of their cute little farm!  The kids loved it!

Then we were on to Bend where we stayed the night and made our way to Lincoln City the next day...we had to make a pit stop and discovered this cool bridge, also we couldn't resist a picture with Mater!

It wasn't super warm but we were SO happy to see the coast!

The next day we explored a different beach north of Lincoln city, Cape Kiwanda.  We had fun finding treasures in the tide pools and the olders + LeGrand and I climbed the giant sand hill.  The view from the top was Amazing!  It would be a fun place to explore more!

The kids always like to do a little exploring of the shops...things were a little different with the COVID situation, but we still enjoyed ourselves!

The next day we were on to Portland with the hopes of eating at our favorite food trucks and grabbing some Salt and Straw ice cream with the Davenports.  Well, after going to one foot truck pod and heading to another in search of your favorite block of food trucks we finally discovered that they are building a hotel right on the food truck block...it was so sad!   We still got some food and headed off to Salt and Straw where we had to order and eat ice cream from outside of the store (and no cones) because of COVID....lame!
Then it was off to Vancouver to the Elms - it was so fun to see our friends! We decided last minute to head to frenchmans bar with the Davenports --it wasn't super warm but the kids still had fun swimming!

On the 4th we had to hit up the giant firework stand just for old times sake!  Then we hung out at the Davenports fun 4th of July party and joined in on a friends neighborhood firework show!

On the 5th, we had church with the Elms and then had lunch and spent the afternoon/evening with the Davenports and Burnetts!  Also...the Davenports Hot Water heater when out, so glad we were there so LeGrand could help Lynn put in the new one!

I HATE HATE HATE saying goodbye - it was so good for my soul to be with friends who are like family, we can just pick up where we left off like nothing has changed.  It's like leaving a piece of me behind and it's never long enough!

Back on the road home, Monday July 6th
