February Love

I don't love the cold, and I'm not sure I ever will BUT the white blanket and ice sculptures sure make this place look amazing during winter.

From the day he got the priesthood, Laexin has been begging for a temple trip to do baptisms - we finally made it happen the first part of February, it was an incredible experience.  The baptistry was packed, we were there for an hour and a half for him to do 5 baptisms.  It was such an amazing experience watching LeGrand baptize him, it's one of the only times I've seen LeGrand get choked up - the spirit was unforgetable.  He won't stop asking to go back! :) (It probably helped that we followed up with lots of sushi!)

Both Laexin and Loa played in little league basketball, so we spent most weekends watching games.  Loa had a fun time playing, she says sports are her favorite :)

LeGrand was scheduled to work in St. George over Valentines day, so we celebrated the week before with a yummy steak and shrimp dinner and goodies for the kids - we love our traditional Valentines dinner.  I was totally bummed when I found out LeGrand was going to be gone for Valentines, so I arranged the ultimate surprise.  His parents came and watched the kids and I showed up to spend Valentines day (Thursday) and the weekend with him in St. George.  He had NO idea, we had an awesome, relaxing, chill weekend - so refreshing!

The morning I was trying to leave town to head to St. George, I had to go pick up LeGrand's mom to be with the kids.  Because of a bad snowstorm they weren't able to make it to the house the night before, and that morning I went to get her and ended up stuck - - the drifts across the road were nearly as tall as my van, I knew better but tried to go through anyway.  Luckily, LeGrand's work guys, along with the snow plow driver and the neighbor on the corner were able to pull me out.  I was even still on the road in good time ;)

Loa was so excited to show me that she had got 100% on her test at school, but even more excited to tell me that she was the ONLY one in her class who got 100% so she got to pick a special prize

The end of February started Laexins All-Star BBall team, They took first at their first tournament in Soda Springs.

The last day of February we were able to meet up with Brad and Candace in SLC, have a yummy dinner and see Wicked (LeGrand gave me tickets for our anniversary in November). It was fantastic!  We were going to spend the weekend with the Belchers but the two littles had fevers and weren't feeling that great and we didn't want to 'share the love'.  The kids were awesome and stayed at the hotel while we were at the show.  The next morning we spend a couple of hours at the pool - our little water babies love the pool!  Then we headed home with a little shopping on the way.  It was a great get-away!
