Trip to the North East!

We're BACK!
We had a fabulous time on our trip back East, 11 days of going, going, going - and now....I need a VACATION! :)
We did so many incredible things and made some awesome memories!
Here's just a few highlights and Pic's (I have over 500 to sort through)!
Day 1
Flew into Buffalo NY, Rent car and on to Niagara

Day 2
Explored Niagara via the "Maid of the Mist" and by foot, then off to Palmyra totally enjoyed our "kiddie cones" (3 VERY LARGE SCOOPS) at the "Chill and Grill" checked out the Palmyra Temple then ended the night in a spectacular way with the "Hill Cumorah Pageant" - FANTASTIC!

Day 3
Love, Love, LOVED our Bed & Breakfast!
Saw Joseph Smith farm, Sacred Grove, Hill Cumorah, Printing Press and Erie Canal

Day 4
Said Good bye to our great Hosts (and my favorite place of stay the entire trip :)
On to Nashua, NH - the longest leg of the trip, in the car that is - 6 1/2 hrs.
Stopped by the Peter Whitmer farm on the way
Had Very Yummy Dinner with Oma and Opa (LeGrand's Parents)

Day 5
Off the Sharon, VT
BEAUTIFUL drive with some scenic stops along the way
Visited Joseph Smiths Birthplace, so great!
Stopped by a Cheese and Maple Syrup farm

Day 6
On the road again! Destination: Portland, Maine
Visited Downtown Portland, ate fresh lobster - we picked him out, took a picture, steamed him up, took another picture then ate him - heavenly:)
Took the Ferry to Peaks Island, rented bikes and a bike trailer and bikes the perimeter of the Island - GORGEOUS VIEWS!

Day 7
Head North to Boothbay Harbor, Maine (easily one of my favorite days of the trip!)
Such a perfect place, on the pier!
Chartered a Personal Lobster boat with Clive and Cage - a trip to never be forgotten! Extra excitement, lots of lobster and lobster facts, so fun!
Topped off our lobster trip with traditional "Lobster Rolls" from the Lobster Dock
Wandered the Pier just taking it all in then back to Portland

Day 8
Head out of Portland :(
Stop at Higgins beach and Portland Headlight!
Had a blast "treasure hunting" at Two Lights beach.
Visited Lenny the 1700 lb Chocolate Moose.
Head to Boston, a frustrating afternoon in crazy traffic!

Day 9
In the car, once again - CAPE COD, HERE WE COME!
Enjoyed a whole day of GREAT beaches!
Skaket Beach in Orleans, on the inlet side of the Cod. Chased lots of Hermit crabs and horseshoe crabs.
Yummy lunch at Brewster Fish House.
A Beach in Harwich on the Atlantic Ocean side of the Cod. Splashed in the waves, gathered seashells and enjoyed the perfect Beach weather.
Back to Boston.

Day 10
Awaken early by the Fire Alarm in the Motel - got a good laugh out of watching everyone protrude from the place in there pj's - funny!
Took the Subway to Boston Common and enjoyed the day walking the Freedom trail (all 2.5 miles) and enjoying the history.
Hottest day of the season - only in the 80's but very humid, we were dripping :)
Took our time with lots of detours on the way to exlpore downtown Boston.
Had pizza at the famous Regina's, topped it off with Gelato and of course a Canoli from Mikes Pastries!

Day 11
Up and out of Boston, pick up Oma in Nashua and on to Manchester where we caught our plane for home.
Detour to Phenoix for a layover and arrive in utah around 8:00 pm
EXHAUSTED!

We couldn't have asked for a more fabulous trip - everything went great and we had a blast seeing and doing all we had planned!

What an amazing trip I'm sure that was... Those pictures in Palmyra were almost exactly like the ones we took there. Such a cool place to visit!
