Tiny Dancer & Saxophone player

Lytzi is crazy about dancing, she loved her dance class and was so excited about the recital.

These two may have been slightly bored ;)

Laexin decided to try playing the Alto Sax this year for band, he did a great job at his concert.

Kids!

Lytzi wanted to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels, so Laexin said he would take them off and help her --they were only outside maybe 10 minutes before they were all yelling at me to come out.  She got on and rode like she had been riding for years!

Laexin and LeGrand went to do Baptisms and I took pictures of the kids by the temple :)

We got a big laugh out of Laexins school picture proofs when they came back like this, ha ha!  I guess it's not a good idea to wear a green shirt that will blend in with the green screen.

I had to stop by the car place in town and apparently the kids got a hold of my phone while I was inside...basically whenever I leave them in the car I end up with these types of crazy random pictures on my phone!

Even Laexin does it 😊

Basal Cell Carcinoma

LeGrand has had this weird growth on the side of his neck and it looked like it had gotten bigger so I made him get an appointment with the dermatologist and sure enough it was cancer, Basal Cell Carcinoma.   The dermatologist told us it was the best cancer to get because it generally only grows outside of the body.  We then had to go back to get it removed, they sure took a chunk out but were able to test it and make sure they got it all...he had quite the battle wound.  I wasn't sure how it would look afterward but it healed up pretty nicely.

Easter Weekend

Papa and Grammie came to visit Easter weekend!  The kids had a fun time at the Grace City Egg Hunt and we were happy it wasn't snowing! Kinda a bummer it was LeGrand's weekend to work.

Then we colored some eggs...it was an extra bonus that we have chickens who lay for us so the kids could color a bunch!

They were also pretty excited to fly kites, the weather cooperated for a minute.

I grabbed a quick picture on the way into church!

The kids were thrilled that the Easter Bunny stopped by while we were at church.  Dang Easter Bunny made a mess with Easter Grass everywhere!  JG and Heather came to visit along with LeGrand's Dad (Mom wasn't feeling well) and my parents.  We had yummy prime rib and brisket.

Loa Turns 9

The older the kids get the faster time flies...this year we let the kids decide if they wanted to get presents for their Birthdays or do Disneyland with the cousins and forego the Birthday gifts.  They chose Disneyland!  On their Birthday's we still let them choose a favorite dessert and what they wanted to do with $50,which we always spend on a birthday dinner or activity.  Loa chose to share a couple of meals at Texas Roadhouse (SO much food that it still feeds us all) so she could use the rest of the money on herself, ha ha.

Birthday Cake at home.

So she bought herself a new friend, a hermit crab she named Harry

Kindergarten program

Lytzi is such a performer she thoroughly enjoyed her time to shine at the Kindergarten program.

In case we thought spring was on it's way...April snow showers!  The kids made the best of it :)

Each grade got to preform a little musical number for grandparents day so I took Linq to watch Loa and Lytzi.

We've Got Land!

After what has felt like a million years of  knocking doors, continully getting turned down, and searching the valley over we found some land!  I've felt for a few months that is was time, time for our 'big break' yet we continued to get turned down.  We've talked to everyone we know, we've knocked on random strangers doors and nothing.  I was beginninig to wonder if my feelings were out of line, and really we were maybe supposed to move on from here.  So we started considering our other options, different jobs that might be opening out of Grace all while still pounding the pavement.  Finally we found someone with a large piece of land for sale, it was much bigger than we wanted so we were trying to figure out logistics and how we could maybe sub-divide the property to sell off the extra acerage we didn't want and help pay for it.  There were a lot of things that were making me feel uneasy, I wasn't sure if it was just all of the unknown with takeing a route like that or what it was but we were still working to  move forward, regardless.  In the meantime LeGrand said he felt like he should approach this older gentleman that owned some property, including a piece that LeGrand really liked (I hadn't even seen it yet).  He went to visit him and was told that it would be his kids decision because they are the ones who would inherit the land.  About a week later he called back and said they weren't making a decision so they wouldn't be selling at this time.  The very next day he called back and said his wife had told him he needed to sell to us.  We were thrilled, but to be honest...I was still nervous.  7 years of looking, it was hard to feel like it could be real.  We couldn't get the deal done fast enough :)  and it was a true testamet that it was the right piece for us, at the right time because we were able to get it surveyed and all the paper work ready and done so that we closed on the property in 10 days.  We are beyond excited!  When you work so hard and long for something, it just makes it that much sweeter.  We can't wait to build our family home and enjoy these amazin views every day.  We feel beyond blessed and can't deny God's hand in making things fall into place!
