Feast & Famine!

Because we've had SO stinkin much going (FEAST) I have been neglecting keeping myself updated (FAMINE)! I can't really blame anyone but me - dang it :) !! I burn my candle at way too many ends and this last month has been no exception! My goal for the new year - learn to prioritize AND to say "NO" (WHY is this such a HARD thing for me???)

The last month feels like a blur!
Loa had her 6 month check up and Laex had his 3 year (late) --they're both growing like weeds and continue to top the charts for height!
Laex: 41 inches, 28 lbs
LoaLin: 27 inches, 18 lbs

**At 7 MONTHS (on the 14th), Loa continues to be such a doll. She is constantly happy and only fusses if she needs something! She continues to sleep like a star and loves eating "real food". She's just learning to sitting up by herself though I often catch her sitting straight up in her car-seat and boppy chair. Recently Laex has been SMOTHERING her! He loves to "play" with her and I catch him covering her with blankets claiming they are playing "hide n' seek". I think he is really loving that she can interact with him and SHE thinks he's hilarious ESPECIALLY when he's bouncing her on the bed! She's super strong on her legs and LOVES her tummy. She's been getting around by rolling, turning and she scoots backward but can't get the forward thing :) One thing I SO LOVE about her is how excited she gets! I can walk into the room and she'll start bouncing and she'll be grinning from ear to ear --I LOVE seeing her huge grin under her binkie :)!

Laex had to get two shots while we were there - this was the first time he's had to get them when he could actually understand what a shot was. Prior to the shots he was almost "excited" about it (what you don't know wont hurt you!) following the shots he was very upset with me and told me, "Mom, next time I don't want to get shots at the doctor, I don't like them."

LeGrand worked for nearly 31 days straight (with the exception of a two day sick spell his last two days) - he spent 8 of those days in St. George.{Usually we get to join him but this trip was filled with lots of working overtime so we didn't go} While he was down there Laex, Loa and I went to Vernal to spend a few days! As always, Laex and Avi had a blast together!

* My highlight of the Vernal trip was my Saturday (October 23rd) morning run that I had planned to be a 12 miler in preparation for the big 1/2 marathon --well, it only turned into a 10 miler where I got bit and taken down by a dog (Crazy, I know!) and ended up at the insta-care for a tetanus shot! {AND for those of you who had to read the DRAMA on FB... who would've known this would turn into SUCH an ORDEAL - SERIOUSLY!}
* LeGrand's highlight of his trip to St. George happened Sunday morning (October 24th) on his way to the hydro-plant, he hit a deer at 65 mph and put his truck out of commission - luckily he had other men down there working with him (usually he doesn't) so he was able to borrow one of their trucks! And, thank heavens he wasn't hurt :)
It was a rough 8 days and we were so happy to finally have LeGrand back!

Halloween weekend was fun! We got to have a visit from Oma and Opa who were in town from New Hampshire. They stayed with us the night of October 30th - and joined us for the ward trunk-or-treat and chili cook-off! They then hung out with LoaLin while LeGrand and I joined Laex in the drizzle and slight wind to hit up the neighborhood for candy!
*Laex had to be Buzz Lightyear - I borrowed a darling costume from a friend, it had wings and everything - the first time he put it on he was SO disappointed, I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Mom, I TOLD YOU I wanted to be the REAL Buzz Lightyear!" after enquiring further I learned that he was upset that his Laser didn't work and he couldn't fly! - What a Boy!
*LoaLin was the CUTEST Lobster EVER! :)

October also brought news of Cade's release date {CAN YOU BELIEVE two years is nearly up???} We can't wait to welcome Elder Hoopes home on February 2nd!!

Wow, so much to catch up on. I am so proud of you for running the marathon, half, full it is almost all the same. The kids are so cute and getting so big. I wish we were closer to visit more.
