Zermatt - Midway UT

My dad has his big 40 year High School reunion at Zermatt in Midway August 19th & 20th and happened to have a couple of rooms that weren't filled so he invited us to come for the night.  As soon as the kids saw the awesome pool we had to get our suits on for a swim...for Loa it was short lived when she jumped in the pool and hit her chin on the side, luckily it didn't split open completely but she did chip off a piece of a molar... after we decided she'd be okay her and I returned to the room for some medicine and rest while everyone else finished their swim.

We went into Heber that evening for sushi and had a relaxing night.  The next day we explored Zermatt before we headed back home.  We rode the carousel several times, fed the goats, played mini golf and had treats from the bakery!

Little miss Lytzi got to go home with Grammie and Papa for the week and get spoiled rotten!  Since we were headed to Vernal the following weekend it worked out great.

Back To School

Seems like this year more than ever our summer just flew by.  The kids were excited to head back to school but for the first time, I wasn't quite ready - they hadn't gotten to the point where they were really acting ready like most summers, probably because we stayed so busy!

This year both Loa and Laexin get to be in Thatcher school and they were so excited!  We LOVE our little Thatcher school!

 Love these kids!

The Thursday after school started we had a back to school outdoor movie night and they got to invite all of their school friends - it was so much fun!  We watched 'A Goofy Movie' on the blowup screen and the weather was perfect.  I made watermelon, caramel & buttered popcorn and everyone brought their favorite treats to share.

A trip to Poky

Trips to Poky (ie Pocatello) usually happen weekly if not more often for us, it's where we go to Costco & Walmart to stock up and usually takes a full day to get all of our errands run.

For the FIRST time I had to take all the kids to do our Poky run by myself ---Since its an hour drive both ways and we usually have a million stops to make, I generally save our trips until LeGrand has a day off but we needed to get the car in for some warranty work so I didn't have much of a choice.

It ended up being a good day and the kids were pretty well behaved, we even managed lunch at Butterburrs without any meltdowns :)

Oregon Coast, Portland & Vancouver visit!

I have been aching to get back to visit Oregon and Washington and we finally got to go the first week in August.  We left Thursday after LeGrand got off work and drove to Baker City  and stayed the night then Friday we drove all the way to Lincoln City Oregon, we stopped for some fresh produce on the way, loved our little motel on the beach, & were excited to get exploring.  It was windy and a little chilly but we were so happy to be there!

Saturday we did some more exploring and found lots of fun critters at the tide pools, then we headed for Portland where we had to stop for our favorite food carts & Salt and Straw ice cream, YUM!

Sunday we had such a good day vising our favorite Hazel Dell ward and catching up with so many friends.  We stayed with the Elms while we were in Vancouver and it was fun to see and catch up with them too.

Monday we took another excursion into Portland for some food carts and exploring the city.

Tuesday we got to hang out with the Burnetts and Davenports - the weather wasn't that warm but it didn't stop the kids (and LeGrand!) from having a good time at the lake!

We also met up with James and Desmond and had ice cream at Chucks market.
Wednesday morning we were on the road bright and early for the long trek home.

We stopped in Twin Falls for some lunch then made it to Grace by evening --we sure love and miss our Vancouver home!
