Laex turns 5!

This boy's been waiting a LOOOONG time to turn 5!  He thinks Birthday's take too dang long to come around each year!

He got a new bike for his Birthday which he is determined to ride without training wheels -we'll see if he can learn before the summer is over!

We made cupcakes on his Birthday and he insisted we add candles and sing to him while he blew them out!

He also had the neighbor boys over to swim outside- and of course he let his sister join the fun!

Then they moved inside to watch 'How to Train Your Dragon' in 3D


The thing he is most excited for is the fact that he is now 5 and gets to go to kindergarten, he couldn't understand why he didn't get to go to school the day after his birthday :)

Preston Rodeo

Our AWESOME friends, the Johnson's, invited us to go to the Preston Rodeo.  Although we had a little hic-up in the plans (on our way there, LeGrand got called to work so he dropped us off went to work and returned in time to see a few events), we still had a great time!  And I do like myself a good Rodeo :)

It was a little, okay a lot, crazy with the kids but they were highly entertained by the Clown!

Pioneer Day, even in Idaho!

Lucky for us, even though we moved to a new state, we still get to celebrate Pioneer Day!
We spent the Morning of the 24th in the little town of Bancroft, we enjoyed Breakfast served by the Lion's Club and had our first experience with the Bancroft Pioneer Day Parade--you watch the whole parade go by, then you sit and wait because it turns around and comes back by, ha ha (that's when you know you're in a REALLY small town!)

I got a picture of the loot, this was after the first 'round' of the parade --just imagine twice that, I joked with LeGrand that we could save it all for Halloween, then I remembered we don't get any trick-or-treaters, LOL!

Cade got Hitched

My little Brother, the baby of the family, got married in the St. George temple on July 14th.  The evening before they held a reception in Kanab (his new wife, Shaylee, is from there).  It is about a 8.5 hour drive for us from Grace to Kanab--we left on Thursday evening after LeGrand got off work and stayed with friends in Orem (THANK YOU Paige & Marnie!) to break up the trip.  The kids still got tired of sitting in the car during the remaining 5.5 hours on Friday so we made a couple of stops along the way.

Had dinner with friends & family then drove the hour & a half to St. George --I was disappointed that it was dark because I really wanted to check out Hilldale & Colorado City as we drove through :) (that's the 'broadcast/media major in me, always so curious about everything!)  We stayed the night in St. George, attended the wedding the next morning & then the luncheon. 

We were back on the road by 1:45pm --we had to make a stop in Saratoga Springs to check with renters moving out of our place and meet the new renters and we were back on the road arriving home around 11:00 pm.  It was a long couple of days, we would have loved to made the trip a little longer for as far as we had to go but LeGrand had to be back at work Sunday morning!
