Halloween 2017

We had a fun Halloween!  The kids went with a 'Alice in Wonderland' theme, and looked adorable --but I think Laexin is about done 'matching' with his siblings.

Lytzi got to dress up for preschool in her 'shirecat' and loved every minute of it!

Laex and Loa had a fun Halloween parade around the school followed by class parties.

We did lots of fun trick-or-treating - first stop Hunzeker Ford's 'trunk or treat', then on to our favorite Haunted yard at the Andersons and because that wasn't enough we hit some friends in the ward on the way home --to say the kids made a haul is a major understatement. SO.MUCH.CANDY!

LeGrand had such a good time that he landed himself on the front of the local newspaper :)

October randoms

80's day complete with crimped ponies & side spikes.

Grammie and Papa made a quick trip up to pick up potatoes and we got to have a Texas Roadhouse dinner for Papa's upcoming 60th B-day!

Laex started B-ball, playing on an Smithfield league so we spent every weekend at games in Smithfield.

Loa played b-ball for the first time this year also, it was quite entertaining - I think she had fun learning some skills :)

Cute kids all cleaned up for Church!

SALT women's retreat

I got chosen to be a presenter at an LDS women's retreat in Provo on October 14, I was excited and nervous all in one, not really knowing what to expect.  It was nice that LeGrand had the weekend off so we all got to go down.  We just happened to catch the Freshies Lobster truck their last weekend in SLC for the season, it was so YUMMY!

While I was at the retreat LeGrand to took the kids to play at the nickle-cade, have mexican food, and swim at the motel.  My retreat was a great re-charge and went well.  I had made these cute signs for all the ladies that came to my discussion - as we talked about service and following promtings to share the light of Christ.  (I'll use the left-overs as Christmas gifts :) )

First Snow, Silly kids & a Split head

October 2nd brought our first snowfall...I'm so not ready for winter, but I probably never will be!

On one of trips for groceries the kids entertained themselves with the Halloween at Wal-mart!

On Thursday October 5th, LeGrand had gone to his pathway class and I jumped in the shower while the kids were playing - only to be interupted by a screaming Loa, she tends to be my dramatic child so I tried to just calm her from in the shower then I heard Laexin say that it was bleeding bad...so I took it a bit more serious😬 I jumped out of the shower and quickly got dressed then saw this - - -

Apparently they were playing around and she fell and split her head right on the corner (metal) of my entry table. I continued to try and keep Loa calm but Laexin was doing all the reacting for me and keeping her worked up.  I made her get in the shower and get washed so that I could really see what the damage was - I was able to get a hold of LeGrand at school but he wasn't much help without being able to see how bad it was.  I decided that it didn't look that deep so I took it upon myself to cut the hair around the spot and super glue it together than cover it with a bandaid --and I'm happy to report it healed up great :)!

Potato Harvest 2017, visit to Vernal.

The kids were on Potato Harvest September 18th-29th.  We spent the first week enjoying our fare share of free fries and the kids were loving the time off.  Laexin got to do a little help at the Johnson's, putting lables on potato bags - he was pretty excited to earn some money :)  Then the second week we decided to go spend a few days in Vernal.  LeGrand started work on the pipe which means 10-12 hr days for 2 weeks straight plus the kids were out of school.  So the kids and I went for a couple of days to Vernal. They put the playground to good use!

 Can you spot the kids??

Caught ya!

They wore out the playground, had fun on the 4-wheeler, enjoyed the fire pit & got to pick pumpkins from Papa's garden!  And thanks to the weather not cooperating during harvest, we got a week extension, putting the kids out of school for 3 weeks!

Homecoming, Canning & Kids!

We love our small town activities!  We had a fun time watching the kids ride in the homecoming parade, then enjoyed the pre-game activities with bounce houses, cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn and made it about half way through the football game.  The little ones spent the majority of the game entertaining us with the dance moves every time the band played, and the older ones already think they need to be off running around with their friends :)

In August I canned more tomatoes than I want to admit, it was several days of working from sun up to sun down, tons of salsa, stewed tomatoes and tomato soup --I may not can any next year!

Sometimes these kids play so well together --it was one of those weekend days that the weather was pretty crappy so they came up with a game to play inside, outfits and all!

Laexin looked out one day to see Couver chasing down this bird, he went out to rescue whatever it was and caught this baby pheasant, his wind had been hurt so he couldn't fly and that's how Couver got him.  The kids wanted to keep him but then felt bad because he couldn't go find his family so we eventually distracted Couver and made sure he got away.

Hoopes Reunion at Bear Lake

We had such a fun Labor Day weekend with the Hoopes side of the Family at Bear Lake.  The best part is that all of my siblings were able to be there - it's been awhile since we were all together.  We sure loved getting lots of baby snuggles from the babies - Dellah, Hayzlee & Trip!

We had the perfect day at the lake - the weather was nice and warm and no wind.  The kids (and big kids) played their hearts out in the water.  Thanks to Kenz for all of the fun blow up toys - we had such a fun time!

The cousins had such a fun time playing together - it's fun that they all have someone their age to play with

We spent the weekend, eating, playing, crafting and catching up.  It was a fun time to be together, such a great weekend!
