Quick Spring Break Trip to Texas

The beginning of April we had a spring break that was originally supposed to be two days but got changed to a whole week, so we decided to make a quick trip to Texas.  We had been feeling like we were going to move the family to Texas after the school year.  It just made sense.  All my siblings are down there plus the best way for us to build the business is to be closer  --I didn't feel like I had a life-changing-clear-answer like we did when we left for South Carolina, but we felt good about it.  And we really had nothing for us in Grace anymore (except some amazing friends we were really going to miss!)  We had determined that we were likely going to move to Lubbock.  We didn't feel like Midland was the right fit for us, Lubbock had better schools and a temple which we were excited about.

We took the road trip to Texas, spent a couple of days in Lubbock then on to a couple of days at Trev and Ramey's house.  While I always approach these things hoping for the best outcome, it seems it always takes extra work, ha!  We left without finding a house, but we did visit a ward that was really great and the kids told us that we had to move into that ward.  So I guess it helped us narrow down our possibilities --we also learned more about the school districts and where we wanted to be.

District Basketball Tournament!

When we decided we were to move back to Grace, one of the main influencers was that Laexin wanted to finish his Senior season playing ball with his team he had spent over a decade playing with.  The season didn't go at all as we had imagined.  Laexin spent most of the season on the bench, struggling in a math class with a very difficult teacher.  He also made some of his own mistakes that were some hard life lessons learned.  He was finally able to be back out on the court for the District Tournament - He had waited a long time for this day!  He played his heart out and literally saved his team bringing them to a Distract Championship title, it was an incredible game!  We knocked off the Butte Pirates who came in thinking they had it in the bag! So glad he got hit time on the court and played so well. Such a fun game to watch!
