A week after Loa's Birthday we were on a plane headed to Miami! It was a long day of travels, an extended layover in Dallas which ended in a change of planes landed us in Miami at 12:30 am (instead of 9:30 pm). After a nice long restful night we were so ready to bring on the fun! My Brother Trevor and His wife and kids traveled with us from SLC and my Parents met up with us in Miami.
Monday we boarded the Disney Wonder for 5 days in the Caribbean, we had a BLAST!! The kids were SO excited to finally be on the ship! Upon boarding we had some lunch, explored, took naps, attended the emergency meeting & sail away party, registered the kids at the Oceaneer Club, had dinner and went to a fantastic musical.
(fitting in the elevator was tricky :)
Tuesday was a day at Sea. The kids started out the day at the pool --it was nice to beat the crowd and let them swim their little hearts out! We had breakfast and let the kids play at the kids club, ate lunch, relaxed, stood in long lines to see the Princesses, BINGO (where I won myself a facial at the Spa :) and headed back to the pool for an evening of swimming and dinner on the deck.
Wednesday was our first stop in Grand Cayman. We took a boat out to Sting Ray City and had a great time swimming with, holding & kissing Sting Rays, then we were taken to a great little reef where we got to snorkel! We got back a couple of hours before the boast was to sail so we took our tour guides advice and headed for some lunch at a little place in town, unfortunately for us the place was shut down --so we ended up back on the ship for lunch. We relaxed & got cleaned up, the little ones took much needed naps and the other kids went back to play at the kids club. We ended the night with yummy dinner and Toy Story the Musical!
Thursday we stopped in Cozumel. We took a shuttle to a little beach resort where the kids had a blast playing on the beach & swimming in both the ocean & the pool! We also got to do some more snorkeling! We headed back into town around lunch time and had Yummy Mexican food at a little local place (the same place LeGrand and I ate at last time we were in Cozumel!) then wandered around doing a little shopping --I went back to the ship early to get cleaned up and head for my facial while LeGrand the kids & Trevor, Ramey and the kids stayed and shopped more. (Mom and Dad had already headed back after our swimming adventures!) I thoroughly enjoy my great facial and everyone made it back just in time to get cleaned up for dinner! We then headed to the Magician/Illusionist show (which Laex totally LOVED) then out on deck for the Pirate Party! Lots of music, dancing & fun topped off with a great Firework show! Of course there was an 11pm buffet to follow, but we all opted for bed instead of more food :)
Friday was our last day at Sea :( --we slept in, had breakfast, played some shuffle board, watched another great live musical, let the kids play at the kids club and watched their little production. Had yummy dinner and lots of packing up followed by an evening of the kids swimming their little hearts out.
Saturday we had extra early breakfast and were off the ship by 8:30am. We got the shuttle back to our motel then decided to rent a couple of cars and headed to the Florida everglades where we took a fun airboat ride & saw a alligator show. Then it was back to the Motel for more swimming, got cleaned up and went to a fantastic Cuban restaurant for dinner!
We had an extra early morning leaving the motel at 4:30am, returning cars and just making it for our 6:20 flight out --it ended up being delayed and we had to sit on the plane about an hour & 20 min. which made us miss our connecting flight in Dallas. They redirected us, and sent my Brother and his family on a different flight to SLC and us on another flight --the good thing was we had enough time in Dallas to grab some food :) Got into SLC and back on the road about 2:30 getting us home around 5. It's always nice to be back home but I hate the unpacking and loads of laundry :) Oh and the 40-50 degree weather :( sometimes I wonder if it will ever warm up here :)
