Nearly every week Oma would walk down and sit with us. She usually brought some kind of treat/lunch for the kids and had a good time visiting while we sold.

The sweet shack
The kids have been wanting to earn money and they always ask to do a Lemonade stand so I decided we could try having a little sweet shack in town. Our good friend Robyn agreed to let us set up in front of 'The Little Shop on Main'. We ended up doing it only about 5 times (once a week for 5 weeks). For the most part I think they had a good time. They learned that money doesn't grown on trees and a few principles of running a business --like that you have to use your earnings to buy supplies before you can make money for yourself, and that it's a lot of hard work! The girls helped me do all of the painting for the stand and the boys worked with dad to get the whole set up built. Then each week they all worked together (with Mom's supervision) to make the goodies for that week.

Sometimes the kids got a little bored, they liked to eat all the sweets and make trouble bugging Robyn in her shop!
