Workin with Water!

LeGrand has a pretty cool job.  It's a bit more dangerous than sitting in an office, but it's also much more exciting :)  He Operates & maintains Hydro Electric plants. {Hydro Electricity involves HUGE turbines, usually in dams, that use water to generate electricity} --Here in Grace, the Hydro plants are half of the reason there's even a town, the other half would be potato farms :) A very Large pipe connects two main Hydro Plants, one in Soda Springs & one in Grace that are run off of water from the Bear River.  Half of the pipe has been updated and is steel, the other half of the pipe is very old and made from wood.  The wooden part of the pipe leaks, a lot.  This winter I have really enjoyed the scenery this pipe has created with all of the leaks.

Come summer, part of LeGrand's job includes patching holes, not fun!

At the Soda Springs plant the flow over the dam is all frozen and it looks awesome!
